Happy April Fool's Day to all of you who celebrate! I've decided I'm rather lame for never fully embracing this "holiday" and vow that next year will be different. Feel free to share any of your favorite April Fool's pranks that would be especially effective on children. I'm planning to officially join the ranks of all you practical jokesters and get the kids good next year!
On to some fantastic finds:
1. Continuing along the pathway to superstardom, my favorite television family is the latest crop of celebrities to appear in a Got Milk? ad campaign! Check out the final shot above and watch behind the scenes outtakes from the Milk Mustache Facebook page. Now we just need Cam and Mitchell in their own ad...
2. Producers of another favorite show of mine, Project Runway, asked past designers to share their vision of the perfect wedding dress for the fast approaching royal wedding. Kate Middleton must be any designers dream client, so it's fascinating to see what these up and coming designers came up with. How about leather and denim (Joe Faris)? Or Blood Red (Malan Breton)? Or Tiffany Blue (Emmet McCarthy, Christopher Straub)? How about some lovely bridal PANTS (Casanova)?! I love Carol Hannah's, Irina's, and Nick's. What's your favorite?
3. Are your kids getting to the age where you can finally start asking them to pitch in around the house? How about an online chore chart where you can assign tasks to each member of the family, track their progress and the kids can earn points to save, share or spend? Brilliant!
4. Maybe as one reward you can offer your son this awesome DIY playmat. I know Jake would have a ball with this thing and I love that it's super affordable and made by mom (or dad)!
5. I also think this DIY activity board is pretty sweet. I know our tool chest in the garage is FULL of little things that would be great on one of these - I think I found another project to add to my list!
6. Got some spray painting on your spring chore to-do list? I know whenever I have to spray paint something, I struggle with where to do it. In the garage and I get paint all over the floor. In the lawn and there's bound to be wind and dirt. How about turning a cheap plastic wardrobe into a painting tent?! One of those "wish I'd thought of that" ideas.
7. I was out at a couple of garage sales today and came across a bunch of lace tablecloths that would have looked awesome if I turned them into these. If you can't bear the thought of cutting into antique lace, the look would work equally well with paper doilies. No guilt there!
8. Some words of wisdom from the always inspiring Maya Angelou. I watched this Master Class on OWN twice because she shared so many insightful thoughts. "I am a human being. Nothing human can be alien to me." So powerful.
9. A not so subtle reminder of the obesity epidemic taking over the country. And how we all can start in our own homes to change it.
10. After that, you may need a relaxing place to chill out. Can you imagine calling this place home?! New Zealand beckons. Where's my passport?

Hope you find a little bit of beauty, a little bit of inspiration and a little bit of practicality this weekend!
Love your list this week. Mom
